Topic: Social Games – How to think about the Metrics that Matter
There is a lot of conversation going on, especially locally, about game design. What works, what doesn’t? What creative and game mechanic elements make games popular etc.? The about-to-become-overused term “gameification.” And so on…
What is missing locally here is a real focus on the metrics and analytics process that drives most popular online games these days. We’ll talk about what those metrics are, how to measure them, which ones investors are most focused on, and how to prioritize raising them within your own game development organization (or solo practice!).
This has been especially relevant the past with the WSJ front-page article about Zynga being an analytics company, not a game design company.
